Business Region MidSweden is a public initiative owned by Region Jämtland Härjedalen which was formed in 2015. Within this initiative, a European regional structural fund project “Jämtland Härjedalen – A Business Region on the Move” is being run with Jämtland Härjedalen together with the county’s 8 municipalities. The mission is to promote the region to create new establishments on companies and create new jobs in existing business for the region. The project’s goal is for 120 new companies to be established over a 3-year period and to contribute to 250 new jobs. The project is funded by Region Jämtland Härjedalen, the county’s municipalities and through EU funds through Tillväxtverket.
After 8 months, 9 companies were established and expansion was carried out in 2 companies with a total employment increase of 161 full-year jobs where the project was involved and assisted with support.
